Kelly owned a hotel on the corner of Wrights Road and Windsor Road called Bird-In-Hand. Kellyville`s landmark origins date back to at least 1810 when the land was granted and the White Hart Inn was built in the 1820s. The Inn`s foundations remain. Ironically, the original owner of the land on which the White Hart Hotel was built was Hugh Kelly.
After her death, John Fitzgerald Burns, James Green, George Withers, Tiger Lilly, and Adam and Stephanie Corbishley (who later divorced) bought portions of various early land grants which were subdivided into farms as part of the "Kellyville Estate".
Their original land borders explain the route of Windsor Road today. The Kellyville Post Office opened on January 1, 1889. The original Post Office stands on the corner of Acres Road and Windsor Roads. Moreover, Kellyville Ridge, west of Old Windsor Road, is a separate suburb of the city of Blacktown. North Kellyville was declared a suburb in June 2018.
From the 1960s through the 1980s, approximately 900 houses were built in an area around Acres Road known to locals as "The Village". Due to its suburban location, Kellyville is a high-growth area in The Hills.
The popular sports in Kellyville include Soccer, Cricket, Touch Football, Netball, Tennis, Cross Country, Badminton, Golf, Gymnastics, and Athletics.
